Tonight is for the team

As I write this, I’m seated with my new team at a Christmas dinner, and I can honestly say it’s been an amazing experience. Moments like this remind me of something important—and if there’s one piece of advice I want to share with you tonight, it’s this: learn how to network and connect with people.


One of the greatest things that helped me grow in my previous workplace was team bonding. Showing up, engaging, and building genuine relationships made a real difference—not just professionally, but personally as well.


So whenever you get the chance, attend that team dinner, that hangout, that bonding session. Don’t sit it out.


Because when you invest in your team, you grow. And when the team grows, everyone wins.

Did you remember the new phone I told you about a few days ago? Yeah? Well, I got back from work today and told myself, I didn’t buy this phone to become a shelf king. Why keep it and not use it? I’d been too lazy to transfer my data because I assumed it would be a long, stressful process. I hardly change phones — in the last 10 years, this would be my third phone. It’s getting lonely now.

 Hmmmmmm For the first time in many years, the idea of building my family is truly appealing to me. The wife of my youth, my little ones-to-be, my sanctuary, and my heart’s work—all of it is starting to make sense now. I’ve always shied away from any conversation about family; not because I don’t want one, but because I feel I’m not ready. There’s so much I need to put in order, and I feel far from the goals I’ve set for myself. I remember one of my mentors calling me a few months ago to ask about my plans for raising a family. Aspiring is good; it's good to have visions for next year. Moreover, you need to build a system. Your goals and aspirations are what you need to achieve. Building a system is the how. Here's what I'm trying to say: I was with one of my kid sisters yesterday, and I watched her talk passionately about her business dreams for 2023. After listening, I knew she had a great vision, but the How was missing . Can I further explain using one of my 2023 goals? Goal (what): to read a minimum of 24 books. System (how): A year has 12 months.
