Give yourself a little attention.

Not that I’ve had so much going on physically, but for some reason, I feel extremely tired today. It hasn’t been a busy day, yet every part of me feels exhausted. I guess it’s because I’ve had a lot going on in my head lately, coupled with the late nights over the past few days. On a positive note, I’ll be taking a break in the next few days. I should have enough time to rest, even though I know rest is often far from my reality. That’s that about that.

Listen,

Two things I’ve been doing lately are starting my day with at least thirty minutes of meditation and intentionally putting my phone away to reflect during the day. I recall reading about late-night reflection in The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari. At the end of each day, you’re encouraged to reflect on everything—think about better decisions you could have made and apply them to the next day. I practice this sometimes, not as often as I’d like, but it’s a powerful way to live.

These days, I wake up very early, lie in bed with my eyes closed, and let everything come to mind. It feels like I’m watching my life as a movie—sometimes I’m the hero, and sometimes I’m the villain.

Secondly, I intentionally put my phone away during the day and reflect on everything happening around me. Keeping my phone off has made me realise how little attention I give myself. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was turning off social media for a year. That single decision and the discipline it required transformed my life for the better.

Meditating first thing in the morning and intentionally keeping my phone away for a few minutes during the day has been incredibly helpful. I recommend it.
