Can the church do better?

Welcome to my December blog

Day 3,

On today’s episode of December to remember, it's Sunday, so let's talk about a few things that can be corrected.

It's often been said that:

If your sole purpose of going to church is only to dress nice —   you’re wasting your time.

If your only purpose for going to church is because your church will call you if you don't come – you’re wasting your time.

If your purpose of coming to church is to show off — you’re wasting your time.

If your purpose of going to church is because you’re forced to — you’re wasting your time.

If your purpose of attending church is because your parents go to church — you’re wasting your time.

These sayings go on and on like that; they're sometimes called benchwarmers.

Well, church leaders can do better. They’re not outrightly wasting time ( in my opinion). I feel the word benchwarmers can be discouraging.

Caveat: this is not an attempt to pat the back of the people listed above or promote lethargy in the work of God.

My sole reason for this blog is to show another perspective.

If they don’t go to church, how will they have an encounter?

If they don't come, how will the church transform them?

A benchwarmer can be a leader in the church tomorrow; the more they’re labeled as benchwarmers or make them feel they’re wasting time, the more they get discourage and regress.

Can we all do better?

…let’s continue this story next week Sunday.
